FACTS ABOUT THE BULL TERRIER DOG BREED

BULL TERRIER DOG BREEDThe Bull Terrier, otherwise known as Bully, is the only known dog with a pair of triangular eyes. Robust and well-proportioned, he isn’t one to back down from any confrontation, although he doesn’t go about looking for trouble. He used to fight. Now, he’s just that perfect companion dog for the family.

The Bull Terrier became known in the early 19th century. During this period, dogs were bred mainly for blood sports. These ’fighting dogs’ were required to be tenacious and light on their feet in the arena. For this reason, the Bull and Terrier breed developed from the old Bulldog and Terrier dog. Bull Terriers then emerged from the Bull and Terrier breed and were later recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1936.
